This was an exciting, dark read. The plot of Monday's Not Coming is relatively simple--Claudia's friend, Monday, is missing, and she seems to be the only person who's noticed (or at least, who's cared). Every day without Monday is heavier, and Claudia's desperation and risk-taking escalate as the school year drags on. Without being preachy or didactic, Jackson weaves cyberbullying, learning disabilities, gentrification, infertility, income inequality and so many more social concerns naturally into her novel.
