First book in the Guild Hunters series. Singh does a wonderful job of depicting angels and vampires in an entirely new light (and not in the way some authors have of saying, "Oh this variation hasn't been done yet"). I also love Elena and Raphael. They each have strong, individual personalities and histories that aren't cliche and aren't simple. This book and the next two in the series (Archangel's Kiss and Archangel's Consort) are about them. That's another thing I love about this series. Elena and Raphael have too much back-story to be stuffed into this one novel (and she does a very good job of hinting mysteriously without being obvious, yet still getting the point across) but she doesn't drag out their relationship story either to sell more books. After the first three in the series, Singh tells Dmitri's story in Archangel's Blade, which is just as riveting.
