Mare Barrow -- one of my favorite female protagonists ever. It was energizing to visit your Norta and watch your people struggle for freedom and dignity. I can give this last book of the Red Queen series a 4/5 stars. There were things I liked -- notably the multiple POV which gave us an inside look into the lives of Mare, Iris and Evangline especially. I must say neither Evangeline or Iris are likable characters for me, but I thought the story was told well using them along with Mare. My favorite moments in the book all happened in Mare's chapters, though. The addition of Cal and Maven in other chapters was, I think, a decision that made the book too long. There were pivotal moments that occurred, but also much that was more of the same. I persevered and am victorious. Victory comes at a price, right?
