I found the book predictable; if you've read Mallery before, she always introduces some serious issues and they are all happily resolved somehow or another. However, in this novel, she really captures the hover-mother syndrome. I've seen this scenario several times and I cringe, if not recoil, when I witness this. So please, if you know a smother-mother, give this book as a gift. That topic is written with surprising understanding and compassion with an interesting twist.
