I found this to be an example of Korean film edging towards Hollywood, which I personally do not want to see happen yet it is inevitable. I hope the days of "Peppermint Candy", "Old Boy", and "The Chaser" ... all very fine films, are not gone. This said "Veteran" was at least entertaining and had some of the old charm. A quick comment to the other reviewer, I can't conceive of watching Jung-Min Hwang without hearing his very distinctive voice. You don't need to speak Korean. An actors voice is a huge part of their ability and to have this dubbed is a crime. Perhaps you don't read much and can't follow the subs quick enough but after a few tries I'm sure you'll agree with me!
