this is an Andy Warhol cover, by the way. one of the best stones albums, from/during their Golden period. to add to the Marianne Faithfull comment, below: she also should be credited as a co-writer of, let me see, now: either one of MOONLIGHT MILE, or DEAD FLOWERS. as far as the cover goes: people would see this in your record collection (leaning against each other, into a wall, if you didn't have milk cartons), and they would assume that you were gay. don't have a girl friend? must be gay! how many phony relationships have started on the basis of protection of one's reputation? Phyllis Gates, anybody? how about you, over there, Rock? no? could it be what they say about you is true? we're gonna' have to stop casting you in the he-man roles we did before, big buddy. sorry, pal, it's just the way that people think. I'm not going to change the world for you. another album where the stones followed the beatles' lead (they copied them): at the end of HELTER SKELTER, Ringo shouts, "I've got blisters on me fingers!" BITCH and CAN YOU HEAR ME KNOCKING feature Mick Taylor, the quiet Stone. (although, no one quieter than Bill Wyman)
