Interstellar is a blend of Nolan's terrific storytelling and top-class filmmaking, and you don't need me to tell you that the result is pure cinematic pleasure. Nolan loves the joy of making high-concept films, and he carries that forward to this film as well. The premise is reworking of familiar sci-fi tropes to suit Nolan’s larger visions, but Interstellar is certainly a writing achievement. The setting is immersive and well-established, which is perhaps a result of the phenomenal cinematography and wonderful music. Each character finds a place in the narrative, which is gripping from the word-go. You never lose sight of anyone or question their existence. The screenplay is tight, and the editor does a solid job of handling all the ideas at bay. Nolan loves to thrill, and it’s to his credit that he does that impeccably here. Every plot point thrills and is important, largely due to how unique it may be. There’s lots of evident research here, and it’s fun to see how it’s tied in without making it a science lecture. The film could’ve maintained a more consistent level of energy, and the sound design isn’t entirely pleasing as it doesn’t allow us to fully understand the dialogue. However, Interstellar certainly deserves a watch, as it’s a fully gripping, unique and entertaining experience. Rating=4/5 @SSGDP of the Hamilton Public Library's Teen Review Board The movie Interstellar is a movie to watch! This sci-fi movie is filled with unbelievable twists and amazing concepts such as using wormholes to travel throughout the universe and even entering a black hole! With the earth beginning to become inhabitable, the protagonist, Cooper, and his team travel to deep space in order to find a new home for humans. After watching the movie, I was mesmerized by seeing how small humans are compared to the universe, but how big our ideas are! I would definitely recommend this movie to everyone, especially those who are interested in space, science-fiction, and dystopia. 5/5 stars @Ash_Grey of the Hamilton Public Library's Teen Review Board
