This is an attempt to make an artsy film like Michael Hanneke's "Cache". This film fails in its ability to engage. I gave up caring about the characters halfway through. Sticking with it wasn't worth it. Trust me, you're better off not exploring this pointless snoozefest. IMDB says the entire story takes place in the writer's imagination and stories, because he can't deal with his personal tragedy except in the 'third person'. I guess he can't deal with his subsequent pathetic choices either. It's supposed to be a thinker, 'all our tragedies are shared', blah blah blah, but any movie where the only brown characters are shrill store clerks is a stinker. Yes, I regret watching this film.
