I'm still relatively new to the vegan diet, and I found the philosophy behind this book very helpful. It helps to break down a recipe by the function of the different ingredients so you can make appropriate substitues. Some of the recipes were a little more intense, but if nothing else, they were great for inspiring my own new recipes. Oddly enough it made me more adventurous in my baking too! And the whole book is worth is for Teena's White Chick'n Chili recipe. I made a double batch 3 times in just a few weeks.
