I just finished listening to this book on my way to work this morning. I highly recommend it. It was a wonderful story, well-written, and made me think about race in different ways and what it might be like to be a foreigner living in the United States. Adjoa Andoh does a great job narrating and performing various accents. Once again, I highly recommend the book. Plus, I hear it may be made into a movie...

While this audiobook is a little on the longer side at almost 18 hrs, it felt like it flew by. The writing is descriptive and the narrator really brings the dialog to life. I couldn't wait to hear about the lives of Ifemelu and Obinze. This book was very eye-opening about race in America and I enjoyed Ifemelu's blog posts. Get your hands on any format that you can!

a fabulous book ...so well read by the narrator with the wonderful singsong of the Ibo (Igbo) language. great insight into being an African/Nigerian in America.
