THE INSIDE STORY ON PRESIDENT TRUMP, AS ONLY BOB WOODWARD CAN TELL IT

With authoritative reporting honed through nine presidencies, author Bob Woodward reveals in unprecedented detail the harrowing life inside President Donald Trump&;s White House and precisely how he makes decisions on major foreign and domestic policies.

Fear is the most intimate portrait of a sitting president ever published during the president&;s first years in office. The focus is on the explosive debates and the decision-making in the Oval Office, the Situation Room, Air Force One and the White House residence.

Woodward draws from hundreds of hours of interviews with firsthand sources, meeting notes, personal diaries, files and documents. Often with day-by-day details, dialogue and documentation, Fear tracks key foreign issues from North Korea, Afghanistan, Iran, the Middle East, NATO, China and Russia. It reports in-depth on Trump&;s key domestic issues particularly trade and tariff disputes, immigration, tax legislation, the Paris Climate Accord and the racial violence in Charlottesville in 2017.

Fear presents vivid details of the negotiations between Trump&;s attorneys and Robert Mueller, the special counsel in the Russia investigation, laying out for the first time the meeting-by-meeting discussions and strategies. It discloses how senior Trump White House officials joined together to steal draft orders from the president&;s Oval Office desk so he would not issue directives that would jeopardize top secret intelligence operations.

&;It was no less than an administrative coup d&;état,&; Woodward writes, &;a nervous breakdown of the executive power of the most powerful county in the world.&;

There is absolutely no need to comment on the writing that shapes this insightful and terrifying account of the Trump White House. It is Bob Woodward, after all. Enough said. And if you are too young for this name to resonate with deep respect: Google Watergate. Google Washington Post. Google (and ideally watch) All the President's Men.
And please do take the time to listen (as I did) or read this book if you have lingering doubts of any of the following:
(i) Donald Trump is a pathological and professional liar, whose sense of the truth is, at best, provisional, and, at worst, wholly inaccessible through the layers of ego and ignorance that has defined his time on this planet;
(ii) that we are witnessing, without doubt, the most uninformed and misguided presidency in history;
(iii) that self-serving sycophants do exist beyond the scope of what we have even imagined to be remotely possible; and,
(iv) we should be scared. Very scared. And hope that a correction takes place in 2020 that leaves these past four years in the column: "disaster narrowly avoided."

Amazing narrative about the state of our nation.
Woodward gives little commentary about his reactions to or expectations of the chaos, lying, or incredible limitations of TRump to manage his emotions, his thinking process what more his staff or the nation.
I understood that none of the casinos here on the Las Vegas Strip would engage in initiatives with the TRump enterprise. But it's completely telling that Goldman Sachs has refused for years and years to deal with TRump because of his unreliability. Bankruptcy is bad for business. Too bad that they people who voted him inexplicably called him 'a good business man - exactly what the nation needs.'
