yes yes YES! Everything a picture book should be. It has funny moments, simple/easy to follow along text, gorgeous pictures with intricate details, and a beautiful message at the end. Loved this one!

This is such a sweet picture book. Wow, who knew the Humpty Dumpty nursery rhyme could be transformed into such an inspirational story for kids?! Recommended for any kid who's afraid of "getting back up on the wall" (or the horse, or the bike) after a fall. :)

Wow. Dan Santat has done it again. This book is beautiful and funny and poignant. It seems weird to use those words to describe a book about Humpty Dumpty, but that's the only way I can describe it.

This would be a wonderful book for children who are afraid of things. Sandat retells the story of Humpty Dumpty but after the fall.
Humpty recovers but is afraid to climb the wall again for fear of falling.
In the end, he manages to not only climb the wall but soar to new heights.

Great chance for children to learn about success after failure or overcoming fears.

Humpty Dumpty loves bird watching from the top of the wall, but after his fall the anxiety of heights takes over his thoughts and Humpty isn't able to enjoy life the way he used to. Poor Humpty wont even climb the grocery store ladder for the delicious top-shelf sugar cereals--Rainbow Bites and Sugar Frosted Sugar--he settles for "Bo-Rings."

A story about fear, courage, and transformation.

A sure Caldecott contender!

Great illustrations from Caldecott Medal winner Dan Santat. A cute re-telling of the famous nursery rhyme with a little twist at the end!

We all know what happened to Humpty Dumpty … he fell off the wall. What I loved about this book is that it talks about what happened to Humpty after. Humpty is now afraid of heights and is too scared to do many of the things he used to love. The book explores his journey into overcoming his fear. It also shows us how it is okay to feel scared and need time to heal, but that it is important to get back up when we fall.
