To each his own. Everybody is a critic.

Well I did enjoy this film, with the formula of good story of teenage angst and humour, among the good supporting cast. I am still puzzled why they had decided to change Aunt May to be about 30 - 40 years younger than the original Spider-Man story line, and found that Peter Parker, although only 15 years-old, seemed too dependent upon Tony Stark and his acceptance. Like Tony says, to Spider-Man that if he is "nothing without the suite, then you shouldn't have it." Spider-Man was bitten by a radioactive spider, which gave him powers, with or without a suite, any suite just enhances his abilities. So the self doubt, here is handled differently than the Sam Raimi directed 2002 film.
However, overlooking these two aspects of the film, I thought this was a good film and did enjoy Tom Holland as Peter Parker.
No Special Features to look at on video.

This isn't just a good comic book movie or a good superhero movie - it's a good movie, period. High schooler Peter Parker is trying to balance his superhero identity and his normal life, which is a common theme in superhero movies. However, the movie deals with Peter's issues in thought provoking ways that anyone can relate to. Tom Holland is the best Spider-Man yet - in my opinion, he's the first actor to truly embody both sides of the character. Michael Keaton and Robert Downey Jr. give their usual excellent performances; and the supporting cast is excellent. I highly recommend this movie to everyone.

Spider-man doing what a spider can. Hangs out with Tony, being a hero not a phony. Um... Here comes ANOTHER Spider-man? I won't go on (but you KNOW I could, right?). The story is a little choppy, especially if you're expecting a full-on reboot with origin story and all. What you get is a crazy-good version of Spidey, the BEST EVER version of Vulture - an admittedly one-dimensional character in the comix, but here brilliantly brought to life by Michael Keaton - and a wonderful addition to the MCU that fits without belaboring the point of it being an Avengers movie.

Good movie kind of weird though. Some of the things that happened were kind of questionable but still a good movie. If you are a MCU fan you should watch this.

It was good, but it's also a 'meh.'

Spider-man is getting too modern

Well it's based on a comic book so don't expect things to make a lot of sense. Just sit back and enjoy the ride, as they say. We liked Tom Holland's portrayal of "Spidey" - He brings a different dimension to the role. (We liked the previous Spiderman actors as well.) It's just a fun movie - don't read too much into it.

I really enjoyed this movie a lot. Tom Holland's Spiderman was very endearing and likeable. The movie was a breath of fresh air. I found the movie very funny and very entertaining and I thought it tied well into the rest of the Marvel universe. Spiderman is an underdog throughout most of this film and I couldn't help but root for him. Michael Keaton made a great villain. Some of the special effects were a bit fake-looking, but overall this was a lot of fun.

Many quotes in IMDb including this:
How do you think your buddy Stark paid for that tower, or any of his little toys? Those people, Pete, those people up there, the rich and the powerful, they do whatever they want. Guys like us, like you and me... they don't care about us. We build their roads and we fight all their wars and everything. They don't care about us. We have to pick up after them. We have to eat their table scraps. That's how it is. I know you know what I'm talking about, Peter.
