Thought safely entombed deep beneath the desert, an ancient princess whose destiny was unjustly taken from her is awakened in our current day. Her malevolence has grown over millennia and with it come terrors that defy human comprehension.
Violence, action and scary images, and for some suggestive content and partial nudity.

Crowe was not good but looks as if Cruse may have a paycheck coming in the future. I don't care for either actor but not a bad movie.

Not as terrible as I was expecting, I liked the sidekick. Tom Cruise holds up well and I liked Russell Crowe's characters. Have low expectations and be surprised. At least I didn't pay to see it.

Disappointing but that doesn't surprise me since I hate Tom Cruise with a prejudice. Plus, I have not liked ANY of the other MUMMY movie's. I watched it because I was bored and then was still bored, throughout. Watch it or don't. Do what you will.

The Mummy was a good movie with a good cast. It had a decent storyline which didn't completely imitate the old Mummy movies. The actors did very well, especially Boutelli. I really liked the appearance if Jekyll and Hyde and thought the actor played his role wonderfully. Overall, The Mummy was a decent movie with a decent storyline. However, due to the trailer, it seemed like it would be quite action packed, which it was not.

Logic? Plot? Character? None of that is in this film. I like Tom Cruise, but the other actors were horrible in it. Russell Crowe I normally like in everything he has done, but he was just hamming it up horribly in this film. The action was bland, the CG was so-so, and the logic makes no sense. Why did the Mummy become so powerful? Why does her power fluctuate so massively in this film (no spoilers, but when you see it you'll wonder why she's so weak in one scene and so powerful in the next). The only interesting thing is all the back story of the monster hunters that could be interesting, but nothing in this film is interesting. I'd rather see the hunt for vampires or other monsters. The Mummy is just plain awful. Do yourself a favour and watch the Brendan Fraser Mummy film instead.

Really awful! Lackluster performances, plot lines that make no sense....definitely a disappointment!

action packed first half but much of the plot does not make sense.

I tried the 1999 version that has been so highly praised, and found it dull and slow moving. This one does move faster and if you ignore plot holes big enough to pass a truck, that is, don't over think it, this version can be fun to watch.

this movie has its moments but some of the plots seem to be out of synced .

The legend:
Well, we've developed this theory that an Egyptian princess had been erased from the history books deliberately. We've been searching for something called the Dagger of Set. A ceremonial knife with a large jewel at the hilt. Set is the Egyptian god of death. And legend has it that the dagger and the stone, together, had the power to give Set physical form. I'm convinced it was hidden here in Europe. Stolen by Crusaders centuries ago. I found reference to it in a manuscript written by a Crusader knight that suggested the dagger was broken apart. That the stone was buried with this
knight somewhere here in England. A massive Crusader tomb was recently discovered under London. We believe that the stone is in there somewhere. That tomb is what led us to Ahmanet. I think she's the princess in the legend. The hieroglyphs said she murdered her father. ... Along with his child. She made some sort of pact with the god of death...

It is my job to make sure that anything of value stays out of enemy hands. We have no idea what could be down there. The contents of Tutankhamun's tomb alone were valued at 650 million pounds sterling.

Perhaps. Sometimes, it does take a monster to fight a monster.

He is also still a man.
-A good man. Perhaps. Yet he has only begun to discover his power. And we cannot know which side will win out. Between darkness and light, good or evil.
===
Princess Ahmanet. Beautiful, cunning, and ruthless. Sole heir to the throne of Egypt. The pharaoh's kingdom would one day be hers to rule without mercy or fear. And Ahmanet would be worshipped as a living god. But Pharaoh had a son. The boy, now, would inherit her destiny. And Ahmanet understood power was not given. It had to be taken.
===
But death is a doorway, and the past cannot remain buried forever.
