Victory comes at a price. Mare Barrow learned this all too well when Cal's betrayal nearly destroyed her. Now determined to protect her heart--and secure freedom for Reds and newbloods like her--Mare resolves to overthrow the kingdom of Norta once and for all...starting with the crown on Maven's head. But no battle is won alone, and before the Reds may rise as one, Mare must side with the boy who broke her heart in order to defeat the boy who almost broke her. Cal's powerful Silver allies, alongside Mare and the Scarlet Guard, prove a formidable force. But Maven is driven by an obsession so deep, he will stop at nothing to have Mare as his own again, even if it means destroying everything--and everyone--in his path. War is coming, and all Mare has fought for hangs in the balance. Will victory be enough to topple the Silver kingdoms? Or will the little lightning girl be forever silenced? In the epic conclusion to Victoria Aveyard's stunning series, Mare must embrace her fate and summon all her power...for all will be tested, but not all will survive.

This book is extremely disappointing. I am sorry if Im being blunt, but the Red Queen series itself was atrocious in all aspects. The ending was terrible; Maven dies, Evangeline runs away, and-- the worst part-- Cal and Mare say they "need space from each other." To me, there is nothing more annoying than hearing people say that. The writing itself was terrible; the political adgenda that the author was pushing was uncool, the long, whiny, complaining, self-absorbed, pity-wallowing monolouges of Mare's were boring and ridiculous, consuming entire chapters of the book at a time. Overall, the book was a huge miss for me. I'm selling my copies online, no joke.

This is the third book of the Red Queen series. The series is about a girl named Mare Barrow. Her world is torn between red and silver bloods. The silver blooded are noble and have immense power at their fingertips. The red-blooded are poor with no abilities at all. But Mare a red finds out that she has powers like the silvers and the novel revolves around her story. I really enjoyed the first three books and I couldn't wait to read this fourth one. I love that fact that we get to see many different perspectives in the book rather than just one. I read the whole book within a week. Mare goes through so much in this book and we obviously find out whether she chooses Cal or Maven (the best part). I totally recommend this book. I would recommend this book to teenagers aged 13-19. I would give this book a 3.7 out of 5 stars.

War Storm is the fourth and final instalment of the Red Queen series. Mare Barrow, betrayed by Cal's decision of the crown over her, now leads a war between the boy king, Maven Calore. The story is told from five different POVs. Though mainly told by Mare, Evangeline, and Iris, Cal and Maven do get about three chapters each. In the beginning I found myself once again lost in the world of Silvers and Reds fighting for the crown. I will say that like many others, I found Mare's reaction at the end of King's Cage to be fairly over dramatic and uncalled for. Going into War Storm, I began to forgive her and looked forward to her chapters. I didn't necessarily feel like Iris' POV was needed, and for me seemed to drag on, much like the rest of the book after the alliance breaks. The reason I'm not giving this five stars is mainly because I found the ending to be much too predictable. It seemed to be too much hype for the very underwhelming ending especially in the comparison to the twists and turns of TRQ. It's fairly predictable from the get go of what would happen and I found myself rushing just to get to the epilogue. I don't regret picking it up, but I probably won't read it again. 4 Stars

I looking forward to reading this book and was very disappointed when I started reading it. It was slow and boring and kept repeating itself. I grew to dislike the main characters and could not read it any longer. After chapter four I gave up and returned the book. I may give it another read later, but for now I could not struggle reading it anymore. Really disappointed!

I was so excited to read the last book! The story was too long and drawn out! The story was told from 5 different points of view, which is way too many! I did not care about Iris, Cal, or Maven. Close to the end of the story there is this huge battle and you would think the story is over, but it is not. I still had 100 pages left. When I finally got to the end I was not happy. The book does not give you a final ending and leaves you wondering what happened to the characters in the story. I wish there had been a better ending for everything that Mare went through.

Mare Barrow -- one of my favorite female protagonists ever. It was energizing to visit your Norta and watch your people struggle for freedom and dignity. I can give this last book of the Red Queen series a 4/5 stars. There were things I liked -- notably the multiple POV which gave us an inside look into the lives of Mare, Iris and Evangline especially. I must say neither Evangeline or Iris are likable characters for me, but I thought the story was told well using them along with Mare. My favorite moments in the book all happened in Mare's chapters, though. The addition of Cal and Maven in other chapters was, I think, a decision that made the book too long. There were pivotal moments that occurred, but also much that was more of the same. I persevered and am victorious. Victory comes at a price, right?

This book was amazing and I loved how long it was. My main disappoint was the way the book ended. I feel like this series is not complete.

This book was amazing!!!! It was a great finish to the Red Queen series.

The conclusion to the Red Queen overarching series was satisfying. The conclusion to the relationship between Mare and Cal was less so...though maybe more realistic. I definitely liked this book more than King's Cage because there was more action and the plot kept moving forward.
