This book has a very nice set up but then fails to deliver. Whatever taut suspense is created early on is disappated wasted by a very predictable and not very interesting conclusion.

An interesting mix of characters, those who walk next to us everyday, those we know and have close relationships with. Can trust be trumped by ambition? It is a rather timely take on trade-offs for political gain as well as issues of hiding one's true nature. Captivating!

Top marks for Day. Her gift for revealing character through dialogue and behaviour kept me riveted. Her main character's self-loathing because of his internalized homophobia left me much to ponder about my own internal doubts and fears. A good read that I did not want to end.
