This historical adventure, set in 17th century England, will probably find readers among fans of Sarah Zettel's Palace of Spies series, and it's reasonably enjoyable. By the end, however, I got fed up with the plot's numerous twists and turns and characters' revelations, a decent amount of which hinges on deciphering clues found in the text of Milton's Paradise Lost -- possibly not the strongest incentive for teens to read this. The first 50% of the book is really fun, so your enjoyment of the book will depend on how much you can overlook the weaker second half. Points to Blankman for vividly describing the setting -- the research behind this is clearly top-notch.
