This is a movie for people who enjoy good character development. The lead here, Locke, is complex and full of layers. You’re cautious about him early in the film yet find yourself rooting for him as the story continues, even though you might not agree with his decision. But that really doesn’t matter, because it is clear that he has made a decision and he is going to stick with it no matter the consequences.

I agree with the last post in that it was boring.

I thought this was an interesting film, although I had watched it before I couldn't recall how it ended for some reason I just couldn't press the stop button, I just had to know what he chose to do.
Overall I was totally drawn in & though the idea of having a movie take place entirely in one set ("Phonebooth" & probably others I'm unaware of) this definately had hold over my curiosity.

I read the storyline after I put the dvd in and the movie had started. I thought, how boring, but I couldn't stop watching. I watched as this man with obvious control issues tried to maintain that control. You can watch as this strong personality loses some of his cool, but never too much. Its like seeing inside the mind of a control freak. I rate this movie five stars just because I couldn't stop watching.

I don't know what I was expecting...I think some kind of cross between "Phone Both" in a car and "Duel"? As I thought "Man, was I wrong!", I found that I was being drawn in, and then mesmerized by Tom Hardy's measured, yet volatile performance. I love the engrossing screenplay and fine acting by all the off-screen voices. I thought this could easily be a play. I even found that at the end of this long, arduous drive, I literally was holding my breath. To paraphrase Susan Sarandon in RHPS, "I' m a Tom Hardy fa-An!"

Possibly the worst movie I've ever seen. An hour and a half of a guy driving his car and talking on the telephone. It stinks.

This is an unusual film, told entirely through a series of phone calls the protagonist makes on his drive from Birmingham to London to be with his mistress who is having their baby. He makes several calls to a coworker who is now suddenly in charge of a massive concrete installation and who must supervise something he's never done before (which for some reason will cost the company $100 million if it goes wrong). He calls his wife and confesses his infidelity, the one time he strayed in 15 years. Of course she hangs up on him. And it goes on. It's an interesting look into the life of a man who has done everything everyone expected from him for most of his life and then suddenly made one mistake and the concrete pour becomes a metaphor for his life (because if one tiny mistake is made during the pour the 25 story building will eventually come crashing down). Tom Hardy is forever calm as his life falls apart along the drive, but the inside light is on in the car the whole way reminding the viewer this is a gimmick. I didn't like the imaginary conversations he had with his dead father in the backseat because every time he spoke with him he came unhinged and then suddenly went back to normal.

Loved Tom Hardy, great actor. This movie left me with tons of questions at the end.
Not the best :(

Great acting by Hardy, but a poor concept for a movie, in my opinion.
