Sexual Content: I couldn't count how many acts of sex occur in this film. It's a lot.
Violence: There are a few scenes that may be considered violent, but I don't think that's the main issue in this film (see sexuality, coarse language, drug use).
Coarse Language: It holds the Guinness World Record for the most utterances of the F-bomb in cinematic history at 506 (averaging over 2 per minute). It's your call.

Quotes
Add a QuoteJordan Belfort: My name is Jordan Belfort. I'm a former member of the middle class raised by two accountants in a tiny apartment in Bayside, Queens. The year I turned 26, as the head of my own brokerage firm, I made $49 million, which really pissed me off because it was three shy of a million a week.
Mark Hanna: The name of the game, moving the money from the client's pocket to your pocket.
Jordan Belfort: But if you can make your clients money at the same time it's advantageous to everyone, correct?
Mark Hanna: No.
"Most of the Wall Street jackasses I bust are douchebags, just like their fathers before them. But you ... you, Jordan, got this way all on your own."

Comment
Add a CommentThe Wolf Of Wall Street was directed by Martin Scorsese and based upon the true story of Jordan Belfort who recalled his rise and fall as a stockbroker. Belfort had everything. A former model for a wife. A huge house, cars, jets, a yacht. A multi-million dollar business, drugs, hookers, etc. and then everything came apart. That’s what the film is about. It was a tale of greed and excess by the rich who believed they could do anything they wanted because they had money and power.
It’s a great movie with one of DiCaprio’s best roles. It’s got an important lesson and will make you laugh at the same time about what Belfort and his compatriots were up to in swindling people. What many people seem to have missed is that this movie is a SATIRE about greed and corruption.
An extraordinarily vulgar and obscenity filled film! But, as a piece of filmmaking, the varieties of camera angles and narrative techniques (including voice-overs and taking right into the camera) are numerous, and so its visually interesting and keeps one watching, which is important for this film because its three hours long!
yhew, bad taste, bad story, let this one go
It's a shit show. Too bad DeCaprio wasted his talent on it. Don't bother, go pull weeds in your garden instead. You will feel better about yourself.
Here's a movie for Jerry Lewis fans (Scorsese showed his cred in "King of Comedy") and/or over-sexed male juveniles. Lot's of moronic manic scenes and very, very little understanding of how these stock traders tick.
Is Martin Scorsese Hollywood's most over-rated director? Sure seems like it. Even his "famous" ones (Taxi Driver, Raging Bull) are hardly worth anyone's time of day. I suppose "Mean Streets" was his best movie and that was back in 1973. Since then, it has mostly been a downhill slide.
So sorry I didn't read more about this movie before checking out the DVD. Could not make it through the whole thing. Can't believe it had ratings as high as it does. Disgusting.
The debauchery in this movie is depressing. It does give insight into the world of Wall Street. Maybe investors will think twice after seeing this but it is not a movie I would recommend.
Great film about a stock broker building a film and becoming rich by scamming its customers in buying penny stocks. How he lived a billionaire life style doing drugs and hookers. True story and great music sound track.
Flame!
A wildly entertaining movie that exposes the base greed and cruelty of America's financial elite. Certainly belongs in the "reality is stranger than fiction" pile.
