The Way, Way Back is a must-see summer film. The cast and writing are excellent. Sam Rockwell steals nearly every scene he is in with his funny and sweet performance. The movie is rated PG-13 for thematic elements, language, some sexual content and brief drug material.

there are very few movies i can watch over and over again and this is one of them. it's a really great story and the characters all play their part so perfectly - even Steve Carrell's horrid character fits really well into everything and it all turns out right in the end. this movie will make you smile and feel good.

A good coming-of-age movie.

I didn't expect much from this movie and I was pleasantly surprised. It is a simple story of family dysfunction but played out well. Heartwarming and funny.

Loved Sam Rockwell in this show ("Plucky comic relief" from Galazy Quest).
All of the actors were great - not all were likeable but they were all very good. Steve Carell, bad guy?!

A light movie, but with some really good acting, and enough of a story to it that we watched to the end and enjoyed the thing. Steve Carrell as the almost step-father, is really cold and more than a little on the scarily controlling side. He, in particular, does a great job in a non-humorous role.

Great coming of age story about an awkward boy forced to spend the summer at the beach house of his mom's boyfriend. Well cast, with Steve Carell in a more serious role than usual. Sam Rockwell is delightful and Toni Collette plays the mother very well.
