Left on the doorstep of the Sisters of Mercy Orphanage, Moe, Larry and Curly grow up finger-poking, face-slapping and head-clunking their way into adulthood. Now, years later, the bumbling trio find themselves on a madcap mission to save the orphanage from foreclosure.

The truth is - If you are a fan of the original Three Stooges comedy team, then, you are sure to feel cheated and greatly let-down by this horrible attempt to revive their popularity with this inferior production.

This is yet another time when Hollywood should have just left well-enough alone. But, they couldn't resist. And, the final product here is, indeed, a true disaster in modern-day movie-making that's so funny (ha! ha!) you'll definitely forget to laugh.

I mean, was it really necessary to make this movie? No. I think not.

Ridiclous and inane attempt at a "3-stooges" flick. You don't see folks trying to do Laurel & Hardy or Abbot & Costello flicks do you? So why Three Stooges? Well this an an example of why not!

I watched the Three Stooges when I was a child and now I watched it again and thought it was funny. I will watch this any day to the blood, gore, violence and profanity people are used to and actually love.

For fans of the original blockheads this will prove to be a reunion of sorts for leads Sean Hayes (Larry), Will Sasso (Curly) and Chris Diamantopoulos (Moe) not only bear an uncanny resemblance to their namesakes but their zany choreographed slapstick is bang on, right down to the cartoon sound effects and beloved catchphrases (“I’m a victim of circumstance!”). Plus, there’s a few side-splitting sequences that would never have made it past the censors seventy years ago: an exploding fart joke left me choking while a piss fight in a nursery went beyond the pale. And casting Larry David as crusty old Sister Mary-Mengele was a stroke of comedic genius. Even a somewhat lame “Kids, Don’t Try This At Home” service announcement by directors Bobby and Peter Farrelly leaves you with a smile after you realize the joke's on you. The hip-hop closing credits are pretty cool too. A nice bit of inspired stupidity which pays a skewed homage to an era of comedy long since passed.

I did enjoy the movie, although in my estimation, it wouldve worked better having the Stooges in a recreated set from the 1930's thus making it an even better homage. Still of what we did get, it's a wonderful romp through all things Stooge. I thought the three leads were wonderful and definately enacted the original trio and their routines quite nicely.

1st Fatal Mistake - Having The Three Stooges agree to kill someone. I don't care how this murder was justified, the original Three Stooges would never, ever agree to commit an act of homicide. Never! ~~~ 2nd Fatal Mistake - No pie fights. This movie desperately cried out for a few custard-cream pies to be thrown into some very deserving faces. But it never happened. ~~~ 3rd Fatal Mistake - Filming the story in color and having it set in modern times. It would have been so much more effective had the story been given a nostalgic, 1940s look to it. ~~~ 4th Fatal Mistake - There was no chemistry between the actors who played The Three Stooges, and Moe didn't command. The comic-timing between these 3 actors was just terrible! ~~~ 5th Fatal Mistake - Imitation may be one of the highest forms of flattery, but that wasn't the case here. These 3 actors were so bloody clueless, so conceited and so disrespectful when it came to imitating the original Stooges that they gave me the clear impression that they believed themselves to be actually improving on these classic comical characters of yesteryear. But, hey! No way, Jose!
