When PI Jonah Geller heads to Boston on the trail of a family friend's son, this missing person case looks more like a case of burnout. But it soon becomes clear that overachieving surgeon-in-training David Fine had a real reason to run. He'd been forced into a criminal ring performing illegal organ transplants, the brainchild of a Boston crime boss. Geller goes after him with partner Jenn Raudsepp, but when Jenn is kidnapped herself, he needs help from a former hit man and two wise guys to try to get her back, and stay one step ahead of the Boston law.

The beginning took me a while to get into, I had to start and stop several times and not for a lack of opportunity to read. Eventually it picked up after all the details were established and the case got going it kept my interest.

I will say I am not happy about Jen's storyline but if it means another appearance by Dante Ryan then it's hard for me not to get excited. The last third of the book was a page turner and the end was best described but the person below me.." sick at heart" but I will still be reading the next one!

Well drawn characters, a compelling plot and lots of action. A great addition to this series with PI Jonah Geller. Geller is a Toronto PI who gets dragged into a case in Boston (hence the title). Not for fans of cozy mysteries - I found myself turning pages to find out what happened.

"The third Jonah Geller novel by Arthur Ellis-winner Howard Shrier is the best so far. Shrier has a great eye for location and a good ear for dialogue. Add those to solid characters and an intriguing plot and you have a winning combination for any mystery lover."

PI Jonah Geller, not fully recovered from a head injury, takes a case he shouldn't have. In the end, Geller's distracted carelessness contributes to the death of the abducted doctor and the capture (and repeated rape) of his lesbian partner. While I couldn't put the book down, it left me feeling sick at heart.
