A train is on its way somewhere until something goes wrong – the train won’t stop. If the train crashes, there will be terrible consequences as the train is carrying chemicals that are toxic. The conductor of the train is new, and his name is Will Colson. With Will is an engineer named Frank Barnes. The train goes out of control and the two must somehow stop it before it crashes into someplace as it is carrying chemicals. Even though people try to stop the train, it just won’t stop. Will Frank and Will Colson be able to stop it? This fast-paced (no pun intended) action-thriller will keep you interested throughout, just waiting for the train to stop.

This is a 2010 American action-packed disaster film directed and produced by Tony Scott in his final film as director before his death in 2012, loosely base on the real life CSX 8888 incident.
It shows the story of a runaway freight train, and the two men (Washington and Pine) who attempt to stop it.
It is a breath-taking, edge-on-your-seat and heart-stopping flick with a bloody lot of thrills and unbearable tension.
You would like to see it twice---if not thrice.
It is amazing to know how the film crew and stuntmen shot the film.

Totally a guilty pleasure movie of mine. Based (loosely) on a true story, plus Denzel Washington and a runaway train? So good. Even my dad loved it.

Wow. Apparently I'm the only one with something negative to say - sorry. The endless rotations of the camera made me annoyed. The "reporters" and station employees weren't terribly well done for my taste. Obviously someone agreed, as this film's box office in total was what it should have grossed for a good opening weekend. BUT, I love Pine, and Denzel and their chemistry.

Another super action movie! Kept us on the edge of our seats the whole time. Also interesting was the Extra "The Fastest Track: Unleashing Unstoppable" which gave an in-depth account of how the movie was made.

Missing half a star because of the bad language. Very good and exciting suspenseful movie, especially because it was based loosely on a real incident that happened in 2001 in Ohio.

Keep in mind it's not a true story but based on actual events. The only actual event was the runaway train! The location is wrong, how the train was stopped was wrong and no one actually died! Apart from that, the movie is entertaining and for an action movie delivers.

Possibly one of the most suspensful films I have seen in a while, and based on a true story!
