I had a tough time getting into this one. 5 of 10 for me.

Adventure/detective novel - fast paced. Not entirely predictable.

Quite a bit of detail about Charlemagne, mysticism/clues from ancient sites etc.

Quite a high body count.

A little confusing sometimes about who/where as story moves between Europe/USA/several character 'groups' & women's voices a little quiet.

Story ends with suspense of new adventure (footsteps on staircase) for Cotton Mallone
