"Ultimately a celebration of triumph over adversity, Hirsi Ali's story tells how a bright little girl evolved out of dutiful obedience to become an outspoken, pioneering freedom fighter. As Western governments struggle to balance democratic ideals with religious pressures, no story could be timelier or more significant.--From publisher description."--From source other than the Library of Congress

This was one of the best I've read in a long time. It was interesting, informative and even funny at times. I am awed by what this women has accomplished. I wish I had the pleasure of having met someone like this prior to my deployments to the Middle East. Even with all the training we received prior, nothing we received hit as hard or as real as this book. Hirsi, thank you.

Read by the author in her beautiful, lyric accent. Fascinating life story.
