Ireally wanted to see these 2 video , but the first one would not work at all and some of the second video too I wonder if there are others in the system. I was disappointed because I could recognize all the places I visited relating to the Impressionists.

A three-part British mini-series. Tells the story of Claude Monet (played in his youth by Richard Armitage) and his friendships with Renior, Manet, Cezanne, Degas, etc. Includes lots of factual details about the Impressionists and their work. Highly recommended for the story, the quality of the visual presentation and the acting.

A little fanciful in the historical sense; these guys didn't hang out in Paris as frequently as suggested in the film ... but they were friends. Then again, they're French and it wasn't as warm and cozy as shown in the film, either, judging from other research.

Still, a very well done production and if only people showed more care for public library DVDs, we could have seen the entire thing.

Too bad...but very enjoyable in the parts that played correctly.

Very informational. I didn't know all these famous artists were buddies. It's my first intro into art history, and I liked it.

An excellent presentation all around!
The photography caught the bright European sunlight--which coincidentally is what the impressionists were all about. Casting was incredibly done with actors resembling their real life subjects, and of course the actors played their roles very well. I couldn't have imagined them doing things any differently except their speech... it was odd listening to the French artists with perfect English accents!! Costuming is true to the period, although I thought for starving artists a few of their jackets and shirts could be a bit less perfect. This movie brings to life the struggles and heartbreaks they suffered as well as the rivalries, passion and comraderie that existed among them.
