In Season 4, there were more monologues/political diatribes and less interesting story lines. Gave up on Season 4 half way through and don't plan to watch any more.

Suggest sticking with Season 1 and possibly Season 2. The series devolved into screeds by the various actors. There were instances of these diatribes in the earlier seasons, but there were interesting story lines that made up for it. By Season 4, it was mostly the pontification of a bunch of arrogant men which I can see on the news channels 24/7 if I somehow ever get a craving for that sort of thing.

All six disks in this season have episodes on them (previous seasons had only "bonus features" on the last disk of the season). There are only 3 to 4 episodes per disk.
Best TV series ever written. Quite a relief to watch each evening after the nauseating news of dysfunction in Washington DC. Granted it is fiction, but at least the characters try to use basic human values to come up with real solutions (and no, corporations are NOT human).

Never cared for this // Adventures in American Exceptionalism \\ foray, and always felt that Martin Sheen was to politically unsophisticated to understand some of the dialogue he unwittingly repeated.
