Heartrendingly memorable, Bjork's portrayal of Selma is moving and inspiring. Particularly dark and emotional, yet one of my favorite movies of all time.

Lars von Trier to cameraman: "More shake, more shake."
I'd have survived a week on the Edmund Fitzgerald in a storm, but I had to turn this movie off after 30 minutes and run for the Gravol.
Memo to aspiring directors....invest in a tripod.

A very depressing film.

This is by far one of the most incredible "based on true events" films I have seen in a long-in forever, besides other personal favorites, but it's definitely in my top 10. Yes, this movie is shocking, imaginative, and has the most emotional ending I have ever seen.....I know why Bjork is too committed to her first love as a musical artist to be a regular actress, and I am in awe of her honesty for this choice. My only warning is that if you live in a cave and/or are a really emotional and sensitive type of person-do not watch this film. I'd give this movie 10 stars if I could.

This film by controversial director Lars von Trier was done in the Dogme style, i.e. with the extensive use of handheld cameras. Most people, including myself, will dislike this style. Together with a depressing story, I have to confess I do not enjoy it.

If you believe in death penalty, you should see this movie. You may change your mind. You will see how innocent people are sent to gallows because of the way they are framed by the authority as well as the society.

One of the best movies ever made. The movie will be etched in your mind for a long time to come.

This has such a low rating because of the camera moving so erratically throughout the movie. I was motion sick from it's shaking! Just like "Saving Private Ryan," I couldn't watch more than 20 minutes.
