very good - a classic for sure. Has some good dialogue and a few somewhat scary moments. Also there is satire and undertones

There were scenes that I liked quite a bit in this, but as a whole it was a let down even compared to other films of the 1930's. The characters are so underdeveloped that it would really only be entertaining for young kids. This was my first time viewing the film, and I was disappointed that the bride didn't receive hardly any screen time. (Elsa Lanchaster looked great as the bride.) It was rated so highly, and I had heard it had a fairly big budget, so I was really expecting some excellent writing, and directing, but what I got instead was low-budget grade writing and directing. I can't believe anybody over 10 yrs old would enjoy this, unless an adult was watching for the nostalgia of having seeing it as a child.

Who doesn't love this movie... Elsa is sooo awesome! I like the first Frankenstein better, but this was a wonderful sequel!
