I enjoyed this very much. probably my favorite of the three films. I really liked the movie, there were some things that I was bothered with. one was the hatred for the elves by Thorin. The only problem with that is after a while it drove…

Well as you can probably tell from the rating, I thought this movie was stupid. The cinematography and Bard were the only upsides. Everything else was horror-worthy. My inner Tolkien nerd was literally throwing up all over the place at how…

Good action and effects. This 2-disc special edition dedicated an entire disc to behind the scenes special features which were interesting. This is the 2nd installment in the "Hobbit" trilogy.

This was definitely the best of the Hobbit movies! It was filled with action and suspense, as well as it was interesting the whole way through. The characters were awesome and had definitive personalities. Overall great movie!

Pretty decent movie, the 2nd of the Hobbit film trilogy. A 2nd LOTR trilogy seems a little bit over kill, however, Hobbit fans probably don't mind. It's nice to finally see the LOTR made into outstanding movies. Read the books back in…

The movie is good but it did not live up to the book.

Good production quality, acting, & effects, but the 3 film series is almost 7.5 hours of non-stop fighting, and though it's done pretty well, it's the just the same thing, over, and over, and over (and over). After a while, since you know…

The best of the trilogy, and Benedict Cumberpatch's performance as Smaug is a treat to watch. I'm okay with the inclusion of Legolas and Tauriel, but the romantic triangle seems a little forced.

Better than first The Hobbit

great movie but i suggest you get the battle of the five armies and the desolation of smaug at the same time because it end in big cliffhanger

Epic failure. Peter Jackson crafted lush, dense, authentic, magnificent videos of each book of the Lord of the Rings trilogy, true to both the spirit and details of Tolkien’s monumental text. The Hobbit, prequel to the saga,…

I liked this Sci-Fi DVD. It is not appropriate for children. There is a lot of violence. I like the whole series. I like the whole series for "The Hobbit" and "The Lord Of The Rings". I recommend watching "The Hobbit" first.

A man named Bilbo Baggins went on an adventure with Thorin Oakenshield and his company of dwarves as well as a wizard named Gandalf. This story comes before The Lord of The Rings, so I would recommend reading this before that. Bilbo and…

Great movie, close enough to the book. The only bias is the presence of this Tauriel of ours... she doesn't belong... period. But, in the 2010ies you cannot make a movie without having some strong female characters I guess... even if it…

Honestly, I could have done without this entire movie. Sure, it was full of flash scenes, but made the whole thing seem unbearably long and tedious. I hope the third is better, as I quite liked the first one a lot more than the desolation…

First of all, I am a total LOTR geek, so please excuse my enthusiasm about this. Anyway, I mostly liked the movie. Sure, the dwarves act like they have no sense half the time (except Balin) and the timeline is majorly condensed, but the…

DO NOT WATCH IT if you have read the book! It is NOT like the book at all! First off: DO NOT combine Jackson (Lord of the Rings, Kong) and Del Toro (Pacific Rim)! both brilliant directors, but this is what happens when one takes over…

Better than the first. Action-packed, character developed and the elves are back!! :) The acting is good and the plot is thoroughly written. Terrible cliffhanger at the end through.....

Superior to AN UNEXPECTED JOURNEY, which I found almost unwatchable, THE DESOLATION OF SMAUG is redeemed, almost, by the dragon in the title. Unfortunately the scenes with Smaug don't come until the end of the film. Until then it is all…

Having seen the Lord of the Rings trilogy, I can't get excited about the Hobbit series. It's been all done and seemingly seen before. If you are a fan of the book I'm sure you'll enjoy this.

“The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug” is the second movie in the “Hobbit” trilogy of movies. It follows Bilbo Baggins, Gandalf, and a group of dwarves as they travel to the dwarves’ mountain home in order to defeat the dragon that’s…

Great movie. The barrel scene was awesome. And yes I have read the book. Is there a chance of getting The Desolation of Smaug Extended Edition? I would love to see what they added to the theater edition.
