Classic tale of adventure. Stevenson balances humor, action, and mystery perfectly in his novel about a treasure hunting excursion that unravels the past of the enigmatic Captain Long John Silver.

This is one of the first books I remember reading. I've reread it recently and enjoyed it as much as I did the first time. It is one of those books, like Gulliver's Travels and Huckleberry Finn, that stand in a class all their own.

Stevenson's Treasure Island is the definitive adventure novel from which all pirate stereotypes derive. I recall reading the author's forward in one edition, where he actually apologized for publishing yet another pirate story (apparently…

The climax of the story wasn't very clear, actually. I think it could hv been elaborated, but other than that the book had a lot of original ideas , and great character development!

"Treasure Island" by Robert Louis Stevenson is as close to a perfect novel as I can imagine. I read it way back when as a kid and loved it. And, yup, I, again, loved it.

I liked the theme of Treasure Island, with knowledge of pirate slang and packed with intense adventures. I also liked the backstory of some characters they meet along the way on random islands.
